adobe illustrator requirements Questions
Can I use ADOBE illustrator and or photoshop on an ACER “NETbook?”?
I’m poor and want to get an ACER netbook but I neeeeeed to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on it. I already have these programs and the requirements for these programs are met by the ACER but… it’s called a “net” book so I’m just scared it won’t work well. Does anyone use these types of programs on an ACER? Thank you.

Yes, The Aspire is a 1.6 GHZ unit, and 1 gig of ram that the top at this time. You may have to keep graphic rendering low though.

Dual Core Computer Experts!?
Currently have a Mac with the G4 single processor.
I just bought the new Adobe CS3 creative suite. (photoshop,illustrator,InDesign, flash,dreamweaver)
System requirements say that I need at least a dual core system for this. If I install all these programs,
-will my computer be able to handle it during use of the programs?
-Are there any consequences of ignoring the dual core requirements? (freeze up’s, lagging, internal problems, fried processor, etc….?)
Obviously I will only use one program at a time, and won’t have multiple programs running at once.
I would really like to hear some input from all the experts, or people running the CS3 suite on a single core.

You can think of a dual core processor as two people doing the samething at once. If you use a single core, it might work, but even if it does, it will lag badly, and takes very long to process stuff. Eventaully, you’ll lose your patience and something bad happens. The lag will not be a painful torture if your CPU have a decent clock speed (3 ghz or up), but it will still lag. The performance would be okay (not desired) if all other minimum / recommanded reqirement are met.

* 1GB of RAM
* 6.3GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
* 1,024×768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card

* QuickTime 7.1.2 software required for multimedia features
* Some 3D features in Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended require an OpenGL 1.4 capable graphics card with at least 64MB of VRAM
