dreamweaver to godaddy Questions
can anyone help me with dreamweaver and godaddy?
I am trying to upload a web site to a godaddy ftp, I provided all the ftp information and dreamweaver said I successfully connected, then I went on my local folder and uploaded both of my html docs. and the two swf’s to my remote folder, everything is linked correctly because everything works fine when I try out the htmls on my computer but when I try to view my website on the web, it says site coming soon, and that it wasn;t uploaded or uploaded incorrectly. Can anyone help?
More than likely you did not browse to the public_html folder in the Remote directory. If you just dragged and dropped, then the files went to the wrong place. You have to get to the root directory. DW has no idea where after it connects to the server unless it has an option to set the default server folder.

Web site hosting question again?
Ok so I want a free website hosting place to make a free website. I already have one made in Dreamweaver would I be able to use all my code in Dreamweaver to just upload to have the website? Also say I make the domain my name but then later want to buy a website off godaddy would i be able to keep my domain my name still? or would it say its already taken?
How free hosting works is by placing your domain in a subdomain. so if your site is BlahBlahAutoRepair than in weebly it would turn into BlahBlahAutoRepair.weebly.com
So if you want to pay for your own domain and your own web hosting you can have it as BlahBlahAutoRepair.com/.net/.info and so forth.
Free webhosting will not make you nearly as much money as if you spend the 10 bucks a month to pay for the hosting yourself.
