Does anyone know a website that tells the basics on how to use photoshop?

I don’t know a website that tells you how to use photoshop as a whole, but you can learn how to, along with TONS of good, and fun techniques by going to Worth1000.com. They have tutorials on how to do certain things (an example would be how to make a person into a person made of water). Plus they have competitions for all different experience levels. It is definitely worth looking at, and worth 1000.
DSLR Low-Light photos look grainy?
I just bought my first DSLR and I know the basics of how it operates in manual.. such as shutter speed and aperture. However when I try to utilize this by taking photos without flash they always end up looking terrible. Sure they brighten up and become visible, but they always look really grainy.
How can I fix this? Or is it something that just happens and I have to deal with? If it can’t be solved by camera settings, is there a way to remove the grain in photoshop?
Your help would be appreciated.
Graininess happens for a variety of reasons, and you will know why if you take a film class. But here is what you need to have images that have small to no grains.
The higher your ISO number the more grain you will have. Staying at an iso of 400 or lower will prevent this.
But being in a low light condition, staying under 400 iso would been you would have to have a longer shutter speed, which will increase motion blur. The way to solve this problem is to get a fast lens. Typically a lens that has a f-stop of 2 or less would be great for low light. You will learn all this if you take classes.
The final tip for reducing grain size is to have a camera that has a bigger sensor size. Most low end cameras have small sensors so they are prone to have more grain. Having a camera that has a full frame will reduce that. An example of a full frame camera is a Nikon D3. But if you want to get even more extreme with your frame size, a medium format camera to a large format camera is the way to do it. Although those can cost as much as a luxury car.
But to not get too over the top, the real solution for you is to get a fast lens. A 50mm lens at around 1.8 aperture are great lenses for low light.
