Creating a Landscape Painting, in simple words, includes, portraying nature’s creation, which includes but is certainly not limited to Valleys, Mountains, Trees, Rivers, and Forests. Landscape Painting is a type of art form, which makes our fingers tingle to capture the spirit of our beautiful surroundings on the canvas, deeply impressing the viewer similar to a natural landscape would do.

Tools for Creating a Landscape Painting.

o Paints, preferably Oil Paints, Acrylic, or Watercolors

o Paint Brushes of various sizes

o A suitable Canvas as the Display Medium, Watercolor Papers, or Canvas/ Acrylic Paper

Tips for Creating a Landscape Painting.

o Color Wheel. Color Wheel is a circle of Primary and Secondary Colors. There are three Primary Colors, Red, Blue, and Yellow. Primary Colors are original colors and cannot be made by mixing the other colors. Secondary Colors such as, Purple, Orange, and Green can however be created using the Primary Colors. Creating a Landscape Painting usually involves the artist’s creativity and the use of various colors, the shades of Green, & the right shadow effect. If a color is too bright, mix the contrast colors to it to dull its vibrancy.

o Paint. The beginners at creating a Landscape Painting may initially try their hands on Watercolors or Acrylic Paints, as both of these are water based and are easy to use. The experienced artists may though test out Oil Paints.

o Canvas Panel. For beginners, a Canvas Panel shall keep them at ease more than a stretched Canvas would do. The only drawback of Canvas Panel is that if by any chance too much Water or Paint is applied, the Canvas tends to curl in.

o Paint Brushes. While choosing Brushes, the size and the material of Landscape Painting are to be kept in mind. As a standard, Large Brushes give Broad Strokes, while the small ones give Fine Strokes.

o Selecting Subjects. It is not necessary to place everything in view on the Canvas, when creating a Landscape Painting. Be selective to embrace all the “strong elements” of the landscape you are drawing.

o Imagination. You may combine your creativity, imagination, and the elements from various landscapes, for creating a Landscape Painting.

o Patience. Exercising patience is one of the key vitals when creating a Landscape Painting, as it is a long and recurring phenomenon, which may take from an hour or so to months to complete. Therefore, patiently finish your Landscape Painting for its complete effect.
